+ I have finally uploaded last month's monkey photos to flickr. YAY MONKEYS!!

+ I went in to Lush this weekend to restock my shampoo/conditioner/facewash, and had the unexpected bonus of a free goodie bag for spending £20. There is easily more free stuff in this goodie bag than I bought for £20 in the first place - a whole bottle of shampoo I wanted to try anyway, bath bombs, soap, body butter, amazingness. Sweet.
+ I have rediscovered the therapeutic hilarity of Beavis and Butt-head. Now if only Daria were available on DVD...
+ My life is still so full of love and it is silly of me to ever forget or overlook that.

Methinks they lie.

More photos from our weekend in Leeds are finally up on flickr. It was only, uh, three weekends ago. I'm hoping to catch up with an entry on London more quickly than this, but the precedent is not favourable.
I mean, it's definitely not. It's still February. Right?

Seen every day on my morning commute, today I indulged my childish desire to jump off the train and photograph it.
In other fun news, this was posted to flickr while waiting for the next tram, thanks to my new blackberry (thanks O2!). I haven't had a new phone in ages, and this has unlimited internet for not much more than what I was paying on a basic pay-as-you-go. Should make waiting for the bus a bit less odious.
My American computer with Letter-standard presets and old documents and my British printer loaded with A4 are getting confused at each other, and it took me far too long to figure out why I couldn't stuff this A4 folded page into an American squarefold envelope. Why, I ask you, of all things, should our paper be just different enough in size to cause printer jams, cut-off edges, and general annoyances?
Also, as a sidenote, I didn't even realize I was secretly rooting for Obama until I started getting nervous waiting to see the primary results come in.

TAF friends, we were so ahead of the times.
BOO RAIN AND WIND. It's not a good sign when I can hear the weather before I go outside. :-P

New Years in London: Worth doing!
National Rail engineering work turned the trip to and from London into a five-leg journey including two rail-replacement buses, but ran fairly smoothly for all that.
More photos to come. The fireworks over the Eye were fantastic!
I was reminded when uploading these, however - due to the amusingly horrified look on the face of the girl behind our friends singing Auld Lang Syne - that John rightly pointed out that while everyone is friends for the night at Edinburgh's street party, London's was very much self-contained groups of people standing with their mates and ignoring everyone else. I guess you can't have it all. I'd definitely go again, though the next time I might bring a camp chair and wait for the crowd to clear before trying to get home afterwards.

Christmas tree

My first Christmas out of the U.S. seemed to go really well! Harry and I hosted dinner for seven of our friends. There was plenty of food and lots of wine, Blackadder's Christmas Carol, presents and charades. Photos from dinner and other recent and not-so-recent events are up at flickr.
We've put up a tree. We don't have many ornaments here, but the last three boxes of baubles left at Primark were in my color: it was meant to be. We also started in on cooking for Christmas dinner; we have seven friends coming over tomorrow. I should stop eating the bread dip. Mmm, bread dip.
Merry Christmas everyone!

I've posted a few photos I had of the new apartment and surrounding neighbourhood up on flickr. They're from the day we signed the lease but before we moved everything in. I have another set to go through but it may not make the light of internet before the holidays.
Go to the Wikipedia home page and click random article. That is your band's name. Click random article again; that is your album name. Click random article 15 more times; those are the tracks on your album.
( Band name: Freedom Ship )
I think the next part of this meme should be to actually write the above-titled songs.

have stuck a bunch of photos from beerfest, and dave & emily's party last weekend, onto flickr.
if you're on facebook, you'll have already seen most of them, but flickr doesn't restrict me to 60 per album so i tend to throw in some additional pictures of things like lights, blurs, and crowds.
